Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 October 2026

The agreement

By subscribing to, installing or using QuickBADS, your firm agrees to these terms. "We" and "us" means the team behind QuickBADS, based in Victoria, Australia. "You" means the firm or person who subscribes, and everyone using its seats.

QuickBADS is for professionals designing buildings. The person who accepts these terms must be able to agree to them for the firm.

Your licence

While your subscription is paid, you may install and use QuickBADS on as many computers as you have seats. A computer counts as one seat if QuickBADS was used on it in the last 30 days. To move a seat to a new computer, email us and we'll move it for you.

You may not:

QuickBADS, its documentation and its name stay ours. You get the right to use them, not ownership.

Payment, renewal and cancelling

There are no free trials for now. We offer free onboarding: we help your firm set up and work through issues with you.

Licence checks and usage data

QuickBADS checks its licence with quickbads.com once a day. It also sends usage data unless you turn it off in QuickBADS → Settings. Our Privacy Policy says exactly what is sent. Nothing from your Revit model is ever sent.

We may stop (revoke) a licence key if:

A revoked key stops working the next time QuickBADS checks it. If we revoke a key by mistake, we'll replace it straight away.

Your model and your professional judgement

Your Revit files, designs and drawings are yours. We claim no rights in them. The fills, schedules and reports QuickBADS adds to your model are yours to use as you like.

QuickBADS is a design aid. It checks a model against our reading of the Better Apartment Design Standards in the Victoria Planning Provisions, and it can be wrong, for example when a model is drawn in a way it doesn't expect. It does not replace your own assessment, a planning permit assessment or professional advice. You are responsible for the designs you submit and for checking that they comply with the planning scheme that applies.

Warranty and liability

We will fix bugs you report as soon as we reasonably can, and keep QuickBADS working with the Revit versions listed on our website.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded. Apart from those rights:

You are responsible for backing up your Revit files. QuickBADS edits your model only when you click a button or turn on Auto Update, and Revit's Undo works for those changes.
