Who we are and what this covers

Your Revit model is never sent to us. This policy explains the little we do collect, why, and what you can do about it.

"QuickBADS", "we" and "us" means the team behind QuickBADS, based in Victoria, Australia. This policy covers the QuickBADS Revit add-in, quickbads.com, our documentation site and our emails. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

WhatDetailsWhen
Account and licenceYour name, work email, firm, number of seats, licence datesWhen you subscribe
PaymentHandled by Stripe. We see the amount, the date and the last 4 digits of the card, never the full card number. When you pay
Licence checkA licence ID (a scrambled code made from your key, not your email), a machine ID (a scrambled code made from your computer's Windows ID, not its name), and the add-in versionOnce a day, the first time you use QuickBADS that day
Usage eventsWhich QuickBADS button was used, how long it took, whether it worked (and the type of error if not), add-in and Revit version, licence ID, machine ID, a random ID for each Revit session, and the time to the minuteAs you use QuickBADS, sent in the background. You can turn this off (see below).
Support emailsWhat you write to us, and any files you choose to attachWhen you email us
Website and docsPages visited, referring site, country and browser type, collected by Cloudflare and MintlifyWhen you visit

The add-in only talks to quickbads.com, and only for the licence check and usage events.

Because the licence ID and machine ID are linked to your licence, we treat licence checks and usage events as personal information and protect them under this policy.

What we never collect

Your Revit file is your intellectual property. QuickBADS never sends us anything from it:

Cloudflare sees your IP address when the add-in connects, as any website does. We don't store it with licence checks or usage events.

Why we use it, and your choices

UseData
Send your licence key, invoices and renewal emailsAccount and licence, payment
Check a licence is valid and used on no more computers than its seats; stop a key that was cancelled, refunded or shared against our TermsLicence check
See which features are used and which fail, so we fix and improve the right thingsUsage events
Help you with problemsSupport emails

We don't sell your information or use it for advertising. We don't make automated decisions about you, other than the seat check above.

Turning off usage events. In Revit, click QuickBADS → Settings and untick Send anonymous usage data. The licence check can't be turned off, because it is how a licence works. If the add-in can't reach us (for example, you're offline or behind a firewall), QuickBADS keeps working until the key's end date.

Local log and bug reports. QuickBADS keeps a log on your computer (%AppData%\QuickBADS\logs, the last 7 days). It can contain level and apartment names from your model, so it never leaves your computer by itself. Report Bug lets you open the log, then makes a zip file you can attach to an email to us. Please check the log before you send it. Nothing is sent unless you send it.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that run QuickBADS, and only what each one needs. Some of them store or process it outside Australia.
